BILL TO AMEND NATIONAL LOTTERY PASSES SECOND READING


Child Abuse, Nigerian Senate, Children's DayA bill seeking to enhance revenue generation and ensure the effectiveness of the National Lottery Commission has‎ passed through second reading on the floor of the Senate.
The bill, sponsored by Sen Dino Melaye, hopes to ensure transparency in issues that affects lottery in the country.
Most of the lawmakers in the Upper Legislative Chamber are of the view that enhancing the effectiveness of National Lottery Act is capable of helping the nation meet up with its social protection programmes, which is estimated at N350 billion annually.
